We See Humanity in our Mission Statement.
The True West Foundation is a new 501(c)3 founded by director, creative and producer, David Fischette. He believes that there are opportunities, big and small, that are presented to us everyday to see people that are hurting and to do something about it, if we are willing to open our eyes and see them.
For years, Fischette has been hosting unique charitable events to help raise awareness and raise funds for local and national charities. The idea has always been that his own financial resources could only go so far, so instead of just writing checks to charities, he created a vehicle to allow others to donate to charities and get involved in a personal and meaningful way with the organizations.
In December of 2023, the True West Foundation presented and produced Hope for the Holidays at the Fisher Center on the campus of Belmont University in Nashville. This was the largest expression of their charitable concept so far, bringing over 700 people together for an evening of hope and inspirations and raising thousands of dollars for four participating non-profits: The Nashville Peacemakers, Scott Hamilton CARES Foundation. the Onsite Foundation and ALZ.org
ISAIAH 58:10
With nearly 40 years experience in the corporate event production and creative agency world, David Fischette, has honed his ability to communicate to large groups of people through live events, video content, experiences and storytelling. For the past decade, he has tried to use those talents on behalf of worthwhile organizations that help humanity around the world. The creation of the True West Foundation is the culmination of the question, What If? What if we could do more, if more people joined in? What if we could do better in the ways that we communicate our message of hope to the world? What if there was a different way to think about charitable giving and experiences.
What if? That is where we are starting!
Your tax-deductible support and contributions will allow us to raise funds, friends and awareness for local, regional and national non-profits.
As our founder completes his 60th rotation around the sun, we are planning to celebrate by partnering with 60 organizations to do 60 projects (time, talent or treasure), over the next 6 months. (July 1-December 31, 2024).
But this is where we need your help.
Who do we need to know about? Who needs our help? How can we partner with people or organizations in your city to make a positive impact on others?
Let us know here and be part of our 60 for 60 celebration.
Join us in our efforts to make a difference in the world. Whether you volunteer your time, donate funds, or spread awareness about a cause, every little bit helps. Together, we can change the world, one step at a time.
The 60 for 60 struck again at The Store in late August
Only 9 more to go to hit our Goal! Still More to Go!
Over 20 years ago, I was attending Calvary Community Church in Westlake Village, California. The church was unique, in that it never passed the basket. There were simple boxes at the back to drop off tithes.
Well ,one Sunday the Senior Pastor, Larry Dewitt, announced that the ushers were coming forward to pass the baskets. He went on to tell the congregation that everyone should TAKE a $10.00 bill out of the basket as it passed by.
We were instructed to take that money and do something for God's kingdom in the next week and then come back and report what we did.
So on July 20th at the 60 for 60 Celebration, we reignited that idea. At the end of the evening, all the guests were handed an envelope that contained a fresh new $10.00 bill and a note that said...
"Brighten Someone's Day...
Lift Someone's Spirit...
Show Someone Hope."
The following are some of the stories of what happened next.
This morning on my way into the clinic, I stopped at the Shell station on the corner of Old Hickory & Franklin as I often do, I've become friends with a few of the attendants there & had hoped to see Quincy as I was anticipating his big smile & laugh when sharing the $10's with him
However, often, God has other more magnificent plans & this morning was no exception ~ when I pulled up I saw Quincy outside of the building towards the back taking out the trash & thought, well I'll go ahead and go inside anyway.
There was a young woman named Tamika who I've never met before behind the counter & after purchasing a lottery ticket I took out the $10 bill and said and, this is for you. Just to make you smile & a well wish for the day ahead - she almost ran around the corner & gave me the biggest & longest hug I've participated in, in a long time (and I'm usually an exceptionally long hugger ha!) she almost fell into me, she is larger than I am so I felt like the foundation of love she was needing & it was the most wonderful feeling. She smiled a big smile after letting go & shared that her birthday is in two days and that this gift meant so much to her. We parted ways however I felt her presence and that hug the whole rest of the way into work & still can feel it now
Thank you for inspiring & making this experience happen for us both ❤️
Have a beautiful day!
Lindsay
I gave out your card and the enclosed $10 (which morphed to £20) to a young lady in our village called natalie. She works hard as a gardener and sports massage therapist but being a single mum she always struggles to make ends meet. So in fact is nearly always at home and rarely goes out socially. I gave her the card explained what you are doing and suggested as this weekend is carnival here in Hartland she goes to the carnival and then the local pub and has a couple of beers with the locals she grew up with (She normally never can afford to go out for a pint)
A few extra quid made her day and lit her face up
Thanks Brother
Here is a ten dollar moment:
We took a cab home last night. When we arrived, we gave the driver, EU one of the ten dollar bills.
Then I asked him if I could pray for him. He turned toward us, grabbed my hand and said yes please. During the prayer we had a prophetic word for him about fatherhood. It hit home and left him smiling and touched by God.
Blessings,
Victor & Diana
Well I was driving home and saw a woman sitting alone at waffle house on the curb and I was compelled to stop to talk to her.
She was having a rough day.
She's been on her own since she was 13. She has 4 kids and 3 of them are autistic.
I gave her a huge hug and the $10 ♥️

David! I was in Indianapolis last week in a pretty sketchy part of town filling up my truck.
There was an obviously homeless man with a few duffel bags hanging around asking people for money. When he approached me I asked if he was hungry. He immediately said "Yes!" and I said let's go in here and I'll hook you up.
He told me he is a homeless vet and everyone calls him Smokey. We walked in the little convenience store and I told him to grab some food and a drink. He got two sandwiches and a water bottle.
The total came to $9.92. I pulled out my little stack of cards and there clipped to it was your $10 bill.
I used it to buy Smokey a meal that he was very grateful for.
It was a tremendous reminder that not all of us can do great things. But we can do small things with great love. Thank you for the prompt to do just that!
Dru
I chose to gift someone who has made it her personal mission as a human being "to empower the world to surrender their negativity and instead, practice reckless optimism as they start the week. In my experience, some of the most profound encounters begin with just a tiny moment of intense eye contact followed by a smile. There are 53 Mondays this year and how you spend them is up to you. Start off the week knowing how powerful you are." She does this through her Happy Monday Project.
I met Stacy on a cold, rainy Monday earlier this year when I dragged my cranky self into the Starbucks at Nippers Corner hatin' on Monday. She greeted me with kindness, caffeine and encouragement with a little message in a box. I now look forward to Mondays and that Starbucks has become a beacon of kindness in a world that desperately needs more kindness. She says I change the vibe when I walk in, but actually she changed my vibe before I bounce in because Monday's are no longer a drag!
She is not a 501. She does this out of her own pocket because she is a person who sees humanity, like you do! And her message of love, kindness and encouragement is meant to be passed along!
Cindy
I used your $10 to pick up some Starbucks for the other manager in my office who is going through a divorce and had COVID last week.
I know he is dealing with a lot this month and thought it would be nice.
Best,
Ashley
I gave the $10 to someone in need when I pulled off Ellington on Cleveland in East Nashville.
I only had a couple of moments to chat with him and he was very appreciative, and his demeanor was warm.
I am excited to find more ways to give of my time. I have always had a heart for doing good in the world.
Thank you for reminding me of that.

The purpose of the organization was to provide a central distribution center for companies, groups, and individuals who wished to help provide food to people facing hunger in Middle Tennessee.
At The Store, we’re bringing together a dedicated community of support working to combat food insecurity in Middle Tennessee with empathy, dignity, and respect. YWCA programs serve the needs of women, children, and families living in Nashville and Middle Tennessee. We provide the tools needed to be safe, independent, and successful in work and life while promoting peace, justice, freedom, and dignity for all. The Mission of Nashville Peacemakers is twofold—to give youth in distressed neighborhoods the basic life skills and self-worth to choose peaceful alternatives to violence, and to support the mothers whose child has been victimized.
Our Vision is to be the catalyst of change on a worldwide scale, so all children live to be adults who lead productive and meaningful lives.
In order to thrive, humans need deep connection – with others and our true selves. Trauma, limiting beliefs, and the “always-on” grind of life can leave us feeling disconnected and alone.
We help you live better. Our experiences combine one part science, one part art, and a touch of magic to create lasting personal transformation.
We walk beside you, guiding you home to your truest self.

This simple act of kindness marked the beginning of Room In The Inn. In December 1986, four congregations committed to sheltering people experiencing homeless through March 1987. By the end of that winter, 31 congregations had joined. Now, we have nearly 200 congregations from a wide variety of traditions and over 7,000 volunteers who shelter almost 1,500 men and women from November 1 through March 31 each season

People Loving Nashville was unintentionally established in 2008 when a group of friends shared several hot meals with some homeless individuals on a cold Thanksgiving night. The experience changed something in them, and they continued to bring supper downtown once a month. Once a month soon turned into a weekly tradition. From a two-burner stove in a bachelor pad to a commercially-outfitted kitchen at church, PLN has continued to grow and expand, learning and maturing along the way, all against the backdrop of friendship.
